The idea of Solphilia, or the love for the sun, explores the concept that our mental well-being can shape how we perceive life and our surroundings. In this series, I illustrate various mental states and their influence on our sense of self.
The artworks portray a spectrum of emotions, from sorrow to joy, and delve into abstract concepts like trust or the anguish of broken trust, known as pistanthrophobia. Solphilia goes beyond simply appreciating the sun’s beauty; it is about fostering a profound connection with it. By embracing the sun and embracing its symbolic qualities—warmth, light, and vitality—we can discover comfort, happiness, and inspiration in our lives.
Have you ever stood before the sun, closed your eyes, and felt its warmth and the orange glow beneath your eyelids?
